Holiday Decor

Studio McGee

This holiday season we are all about getting cozy and creating magical spaces. It’s so important to spend quality time with people we love and have our spaces be a reflection of this as well.

Every year there are so many unique ways to style your home for the holidays that it can almost seem overwhelming. We personally love having a tree, but decorating the rest of the house should be fun and breezy!

We thought we would start with the heart of the home, the living room, to inspire our holiday decor this season. By breaking it down into a couple of steps, you will no doubt be able to dress up your abode with the perfect amount of seasonal decor.

Natural Foraging

We’re big fans of bringing the outdoors in as much as possible during the colder months. This could mean long, sculptural garlands or beautiful decorative pinecones. Have fun with a family walk and forage for some beautiful ways to display some greenery on your mantle or around the home. We love making wreaths as well, an activity the whole family can enjoy!

Stockings

This is such a fun way to personalize your decor and keep a tradition going. In our family we have always done a stocking gifting, which means you can fill entire stocking with goodies and gifts. We’re also never mad a monogram or sentimental stocking for each and everyone in the family. We also think it’s a lovely way to introduce a new partner to the family, a new baby or even a new pet - with their very own stocking filled with thoughtful treats. We also recommend doing a holiday theme or keeping things very monochromatic.

Holiday Trinkets

We believe holiday trickets really just “speak to you”. Whether you’re more of a sentimental decorating, using the same ornaments or hand-me-downs each year, or perhaps you’re more of a statement decorator and look for the perfect ornaments and holiday decor to bring your space to an elevated holiday level. We’re here to make some stylish suggestions to help you get your home looking holiday ready!
