Where: Colette Grand Café and Bakery

Whenever I’m back in Toronto, and I loooove to frequent some of my fave spots in the city. Colette Grand Café has everything you could want in terms of a restaurant – delicious French food (don’t even pretend you’re on a diet when you come here!), breath taking décor (barrel vaulted ceilings, hand painted tiles, French blues and creamy yellows), and it’s completely versatile in terms of a venue. It’s perfect for breakfast, brunch, dinner, showers (both bridal and baby), birthdays and even work!

Neighbourhood: King West Area, 550 Wellington St. W., 647-348-7000, colettetoronto.com@colettetoronto

Chefs: Executive Chef Michael Steh, chef de cuisine Matthew Swift and executive pastry chef Leslie Steh (who my girlfriend is having make her wedding cake!!)

Menu: Modern French, with a French wine list that highlights Burgundy and Champagne (I don’t drink, but I know most do enjoy a drink with their brunch;))

I love to order different things from the menu (when it’s not the brunch buffet, in which case I order everything)!

My friend, Zoe Mimran, and I did a little work/brunch break together and ordered some yummy croissants and smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, and topped it off with some yummy treats from the dessert cart.

There is no surprise to me that this place is also sisters with The Chase, The Chase Fish and Oyster (created by The Chase Group), as all three are so polished, pretty and oh-so Parisian!

Where to sit: I usually will make a reservation when I’m visiting with more than 2 of us (if there’s two I love to sit at the bar!), and its super that they can accommodate such large groups if you choose to rent out part of the space. I’ve spent many-a-meal sitting through brunch and into dinner, and I truly love to pick a different place to sit every time I there. There is a patio that wraps around the outside (perfect or people watching and fresh air), indoor booths (that are tufted and perfect for stretching out), and bistro tables (for quick catch ups), and different rooms (each with its own unique natural light and vibe).

I also never leave a place I love empty handed, and I love to pay-it-forward with treats for my friends from the little bakery shop next to patio. Macarons, cakes and even little kitchen accessories…Or, of course you can always treat yourself!
